Holocaust Museum of
Slavery proudly
announce the opening
of their permanent
museums at (2)
locations 3650
Richmond St.
Philadelphia , PA
19134 and *327 White
Horse Pike, Lawnside,
NJ 08045. Their
private collection
comprises more than
2500 rare objects
and artifacts
featuring slavery
hardware such as
shackles, leg irons,
tethers, branding
irons and numerous
Jim Crow objects
that chronicle one
of the most heinous
periods in American
history.
In addition, to
exhibiting the
Ragsdale’s
extraordinary
collection, the tour
is accompanied by
presentations that
review periods of
the African slave
trade from Middle
Passage to
Reconstruction. The
presentations are
thoughtfully and
sensitively geared
for all age groups.
It includes
little-known Black
History facts, which
highlight the roles
African Americans
played in America’s
development and the
continuing impact of
those roles in the
aftermath of
slavery.
Noteworthy items
from the “Lest We
Forget” collection
have also been
selected for
inclusion in a
traveling
exhibition, which
the Ragsdale’s share
enthusiastically
with cultural,
religious and
community
organizations;
conferences,
conventions and
events; family
reunions and
schools. The
educational benefits
of this collection,
serves as a valuable
learning tool for
students of all
ages, are endless.
